      Girls' Athletics

Athletics is a major sport for girls throughout the Summer term. The various athletics disciplines are taught during PE lessons and girls can also choose to participate and develop their skills further at Athletics club after school.

Athletes compete in the Macclesfield and District Athletics championships and the ESAA Schools’ Cup Athletics competition. A number of girls regularly qualify to represent Macclesfield at the Cheshire Schools Athletics championships and both Junior girls and Inter girls teams annually qualify for the Regional Finals of the ESAA School’s Cup competition.

Over the years there have been several successful athletes who have gained National qualifying standards at the Cheshire Schools Athletics Championships and have competed for Cheshire at the ESAA National Schools’ Track and Field Championships.
