The King’s School trampoline stars are flying high at
national level. Recognised as having one of the very best trampoline squads
nationwide, King’s produced a set of stunning results in the National Schools’
The power-packed Senior boys’ team of Harry Pinches,
Harry Collett and Harry Wallace competing in the Year 10 to 14 Elite event won
the coveted gold medals, while there were a remarkable five second places, one
third and one fourth place in the team events, with the superb Vicky Theaker
placing third individually.
In honour of their performances, The King’s School was selected for a national
recognition award for the most pupils to qualify into the National Finals and
for having 50 competitors qualify for the North of Britain Zonals in Northern
Ireland earlier in the season.
The results were: Year 10-14 Elite Boys – First place:
Harry Pinches, Harry Wallace and Harry Collett.
Year 7-9 Elite Girls – Second place: Lottie Clark, Jessica Burton, Sophie
Fletcher and Millie Crummack.
Under 11 Novice Boys – Second place: Charlie Burrows-Jarvis, Gabriel
Adamson and Christian Smith
Under 11 Intermediate Girls – Second place: Poppy Fletcher, Emilia Pearce,
Lauren Whaley and Charlotte Baxter.
Year 1-6 Intermediate Boys – Second place: Simon
Shadwell, Oliver Pinches, Alex Bailey and Joseph Bailey-Heald.
Year 7-9 Intermediate Girls – Third place: Izzy
Hammond, Iona Whaley, Leah Shadwell and Lydia Hine.
Year 7-9 Intermediate Boys – Fourth place: Otis Hughes, Oliver Jones, Edward
Broadley and Ben Willock.
In the individuals Year 10-14 Intermediate Girls Vicky
Theaker was third and in the Year 9-10 Boys novice James Pearce was eighth.
King’s Trampoline Coach Rachael Burrows said: “These pupils’ achievements are
nothing short of phenomenal. They have demonstrated consistency and excellence
at every stage.”
Rachael, who has masterminded King’s spectacular results, added: “Harry
Pinches, Harry Collett and Harry Wallace have represented King’s for 12 years,
since Year 3, so to win their last national competition together for school was
the best possible end to an era. Moreover, it’s a gallant squad and I am very
proud of all of them.”
