King’s is one of England’s great independent schools, with a history stretching back for more than five centuries and a reputation for delivering outstanding education. We welcome boys and girls aged 3 - 18 into our dynamic, stimulating and happy co-educational learning environment.
We are both an academic school, with outstanding results, and a school that offers a broad education with a remarkable range of extra-curricular opportunities and experiences. We provide a vibrant curriculum that is designed to keep pupils engaged, challenged and eager to learn. Importantly, ours is a nurturing environment, which produces happy, well-rounded children.
We aim to challenge our pupils to aspire, work hard and achieve great results. Our pupils are confident and independent young people who are fully prepared for the challenges of the future. When they leave, they go on to study at the universities of their choice and excel in their chosen fields.
Whilst immensely proud of our heritage, we are also a forward-looking school with an exciting future set out in our 2020 Vision.
King’s offers families a number of unique advantages:
A small school atmosphere in a large school
King’s has all the advantages of a large school, with an unrivalled range of extra-curricular opportunities, and the very best teaching staff. But we operate within three, smaller Divisions each with its own Principal, pastoral team and intimacy of a ‘small school’ within a school. We pride ourselves on our exceptional pastoral care. Our pupils experience a friendly, small-school atmosphere with the support of an impressively large group of talented staff.
Tradition and Innovation
King's has never stood still: we have occupied 5 sites over our 517-year history. Our desire to innovate, to lead and to improve all aspects of what we do will lead to our move to a new, state-of-the-art campus on the outskirts of Prestbury in September 2020.
Academic and well-rounded
Our pupils do extremely well academically and our exam results are some of the best in the country. We challenge our pupils to aspire, work hard and achieve great results. But we also offer a whole world of exciting opportunities from regular sporting, musical and cultural activities to exploring the highest peaks and volunteering in remote parts of the globe.
Space to grow and learn
King’s is fortunate to be located in rural Cheshire and our large 80-acre estate gives children the space they need to learn and flourish. We make the most of our extensive outdoor sporting facilities, as well as our local environment and use our fleet of minibuses to access the Lake District, North Wales, Peak District and Yorkshire.
I hope this website will give you a sense of our vibrant and caring school. I would encourage you to read our latest ISI Inspection Report and to visit us to experience King’s first-hand.
