Junior Applications

Places are normally available for each year group, i.e. Years 3 - 6 for boys and girls aged 7 - 10 years of age on 31 August 2012.

The Entrance Assessments will take place on Friday 20 January 2012.  We hope to create a relaxed atmosphere for the children to show their capabilities.

The Assessment consists of papers to test literacy, numeracy and reasoning power set to standards normally expected of boys and girls of above average ability.  The aim is to test potential rather than specific knowledge. 

Parents are required to register before Friday 6 January 2012, by completing the Registration Form and returning it to the Admissions Office with a non-returnable fee of £35.  Offers of places will be posted out on Wednesday 25 January 2012 and replies are required by Friday 3 February 2012.

In order to gain to gain a fuller picture of a child’s suitability, we will contact the child’s present Head Teacher to ask for details of academic progress, interests and future potential.  This information, sought prior to the Assessment, forms an important part of the admissions procedure and it is assumed that parents would prefer to contact the present school and inform them that contact will be made in early January.
