Queen Victoria was certainly not amused when she finished third in King’s Girls’ Division celebration of the ‘The Greatest Women in History’. She had to concede to Ellen McArthur and her all women crew, who were recreated by Alice and Charlotte in the end of year fancy dress contest.
Alice said: “Ellen McArthur is an inspiration to all young women showing that sisters can do it for themselves, no matter how difficult the challenge.”
In second place was Amy Winehouse with a plea from her fan Rosie that the public and media "should judge her on her massive talent and let her got over her problems in peace.”
King’s Girls’ Division Vice Principal Val White got a special mention for her choice of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst quoting "her perseverance in the struggle for political emancipation."
Jennifer as the old Queen simply said: “I led the greatest empire the world has ever seen for 63 years; I didn’t just sail around it.”
The annual party also had a pink theme with £300 raised for the Genesis Breast Cancer Appeal.
