Alice wins lacrosse award

For the second year running Alice, a Year 9 pupil, was presented with the Coach’s Player of the Year Award for 2007/8, at Wilmslow Lacrosse Club.

In presenting the award, coach Emily Williams, said  “Alice has been an integral part of the under 14 team at Wilmslow this season. She has led the team in attack, scoring and assisting many goals. She is always determined to play her best and her enthusiasm rubs off on the rest of the team. For someone who has only been playing lacrosse for a few years, she has very good stick skills and I am confident that if she continues to progress as she is doing that she will be a contender for the Cheshire junior team in the next few years”.

During this season Alice collected many player of the match awards, scored many goals and has been selected to represent Wilmslow Girls Under 14’s and Under 16’s Girls.  She was also selected  to play for the Cheshire U14 squad.

On presentation of this year’s Coach’s Player of the Year Award  her coach said “it makes it all worthwhile, when pupils take onboard what you tell and show them, and put it into practice on the pitch. Although a quiet girl, Alice is a talented, reliable and well respected team member”.
