One of the special things about King's is its semi-rural setting, which offers enormous advantages over city sites. As well as having our own meadow and extensive sports facilities, the town of Macclesfield is a historic market town on the edge of the Peak District.
In the centre of Macclesfield, our Cumberland Street site (SK10 1DA) serves both King's Boys and Sixth Form. Half a mile to the east, our Fence Avenue site (SK10 1LS) houses King's Girls, Juniors and Infants.
Details of our contract bus services can be accessed here:
The School has arranged for a Late Bus service to run from September. This service is for children in Years 5 to 13. If you would like to book a seat, or have any questions, please e-mail Jill Major as indicated on this information sheet:
The Transport Coordinator in the Bursars' Office will be pleased to explain booking arrangements.
The school is also well served by the local bus services and by the railway. Both railway and bus stations are within a ten minute walk from the school. Train journey times are quick and convenient e.g. Prestbury 4 minutes, Congleton 9 minutes, Poynton 10 minutes, Bramhall 13 minutes, Cheadle Hulme 16 minutes, Stockport and Stoke 20 minutes, Manchester Piccadilly 28 minutes.
The Traveline journey planner gives public routes and connections to King's from across the area. Please visit their website for bus and train details:
