John Sugden, MA, FIMechE, CEng
John Sugden is currently Vice Chair of the Governing Body which he joined in 2007, and he is a former pupil of King’s School. He has a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and he is a Chartered Engineer and is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has worked for over 30 years for ICI, Zeneca and AstraZeneca in the area of research and manufacture of pharmaceuticals, plastics and fine chemicals. He has lived in UK, Sweden and the USA and has worked in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
He finished his career with AstraZeneca in 2013 as a Vice President with accountability for all Engineering, Facilities Management, Real Estate and Safety Health and Environment services for the company on a global basis and since then has operated as a management consultant in the broad areas of Engineering and Facilities Management.
Outside work John lives in Macclesfield and is married with two daughters, both of whom attended King’s School and progressed to University. He is interested in sport both as a spectator and a participant.
