John W Kennerley, BPharm, MRPharmsS, PhD
Chairman of the King’s Board of Governors since November 2013, John Kennerley joined the Governors of King’s in 2007 and was previously the Vice-Chair and also the Chair of the Education, Nominations and Renumeration Committees.
John graduated from the University of Nottingham in Pharmacy, and also compeleted his PhD in the same institution. He started his career as a University Lecturer before moving into the pharmaceutical industry. His career experience was primarily concerned with the research, development and manufacture of new medicines, including their project and portfolio management through late stage development and the early launch period. He retired from AstraZeneca in 2011.
He is married with two sons, both of whom attended King’s before continuing their education at Oxford and Leeds Universities. John’s father also attended the school in the 1920s and so his family have had a long and happy association with King’s.
