To liven up the morning routine, pupils in 8JAIH use register numbers and challenge themselves to against the clock. Having whittled their English numbers down to a mere eight seconds, the form moved on to the harder challenge of numbers in Japanese, Croatian and Irish Gaelic. This week in morning tutor time we enjoyed a visit from a Philip Delikouras, who made a brilliant job of teaching us the numbers in Greek. Philip is bilingual and in his short session gave us a master class in pronunciation and etymology, which was highly engaging. At present the form’s best time is 18 seconds, and Philip scored us 7/10 for pronunciation. We have invited him to come back and see our progress in a fortnight’s time!
