To really appreciate all that King's has to offer, and to experience first-hand our friendly community, we would encourage you to visit our school. We offer both organised events, such as Open Days and Taster Days, as well as mid-week Tours which are for small groups of families (typically 2 or 3 families) or individual families (by request).
We would be delighted to welcome you on a normal school day to see us in action. We offer a list of dates when tours are available, usually in the mornings, so that you can see us on a normal working day. For details of available dates and to book, please contact the Admissions Department.
Sixth Form Open Evening (for entry in 2018) - Wednesday 27 September 2017, 6.30pm
All academic departments and our modern Sixth Form Centre will be open for you to visit. As well as meeting our staff and current Sixth Form pupils, you will be able to learn more about subject choices, sports provision, preparation for university and our careers service.
Whole School Open Day - Saturday 7 October 2017, 10am - 1pm
Our open events in the Autumn term are designed to provide parents and children with an insight into 'life at King's' and show all that we have to offer future pupils prior to the entrance examinations in January. Please come along to meet our staff and pupils, have your questions answered, see our facilities and hear from our Headmaster and Principals.
You will be shown around by our pupils and there will be plenty of opportunities to meet staff and enjoy refreshments. There is no need to book - please just join us for a great day! Sixth Form Options Evening - Thursday 16 November 2017, 6pm
An evening designed to give potential Sixth Form students a greater understanding of the subject choices available and the syllabus content. Every academic department will give talks describing the content of their A Level courses. External applicants are most welcome to attend to meet our staff and current students.
King's At Work - November 2017 (9.30am - 3pm)
This is a special taster day for pupils currently in Year 7 or 8 who are considering entry to King’s Seniors. It allows both boys and girls to experience a normal working day at King’s. Pupils get to experience lessons, meet our pupils and staff and have a look around our facilities. It is also an ideal opportunity for parents to chat to staff over refreshments at the end of the school day. Booking essential - please speak to the Admissions team for dates and to book.
Infant & Junior Taster Afternoon, Thursday 2 November 2017, 1:15pm
Junior age children and their parents are invited to spend the afternoon in school. Children are able to join classes from Year1 through to Year 6 and experience learning on a normal school day, whilst parents can speak to staff about our unique curriculum and the vast array of opportunities on offer, as well as look around our classrooms, extensive outdoor areas and new sports facilities. Life at King's - Saturday 13 January 2018 (10am - 12 noon)
Aimed at those pupils who are registered to take our Senior Entrance Examination in 2016, this is a structured morning designed to give parents of Year 6/7/8 pupils more detail about our curriculum, our pastoral structure, outstanding extra-curricular offer and school life in general. There are fun activities for the children to get involved with. Please book through Admissions.
EYFS Taster Sessions (Spring 2018)
Children considering joining King's Pre-School and Reception classes are invited to join us for a taster session in February - April 2018. Please speak to the Admissions team for dates and in order to book a place.
Infant & Junior Open Afternoon - Friday 27 April 2018, 1.15pm - 3pm
One of the biggest events of the year, our Open Afternoon offers you the opportunity to come and look round our Infants & Juniors and learn about our full and balanced curriculum, as well as the incredible range of sports and clubs on offer. Taster Day (for Year 7 entry in 2019) - Monday 2 July 2018
A fun-packed day for children currently in Year 5 to come and learn about what life is like at King’s Seniors. The event runs for the whole day, from 9.15am – 3.20pm (lunch and snacks included). Parents are warmly invited to join us for Afternoon Tea as they come to pick their children up so that they too can gain an insight into what is special about King’s and why we are so passionate about it. Booking is essential and we recommend that you apply early.
