Sixth Form (16-18yrs)
King's Sixth Form offers both academic excellence and outstanding support and guidance for students as they study for the important final two years of school. Our students consistently achieve some of the best A Level results in the country: 52% of all grades at A*/A and 84% at A* - B. The emphasis is not just on good results, but on supporting well-rounded individuals who are well prepared for university applications and have the skills and character to succeed in the world of work.

We welcome a good number of new students from other schools in to our Sixth Form, alongside many of our own students who have studied at King's for GCSEs. Students very quickly settle in to our friendly and vibrant Sixth Form. Year groups are typically around 100 - 120 students with tutor groups of around 12 -14 students per group.

We appreciate the importance of fostering independent learning, personal organisation and a balance between work and play. We offer a wide range of subjects and most of our students study three A Levels, although in some cases (often where Further Mathematics is studied) four subjects are chosen.
A breadth of learning is maintained through an Extended Studies programme. In Year 12, students complete the prestigious Extended Project Qualification, which is highly regarded by universities. In Year 13, students may choose from a range of additional qualifications including the Sports Leadership qualification, The Arts Award, Japanese, AS Level Theatre Studies or Business Spanish.
Students also enjoy a wealth of recreational activities, careers support and tutorials. Sixth Form life extends well beyond the classroom and includes a range of activities including volunteering, Young Enterprise, Model UN, World Challenge expeditions to places like Costa Rica, India and Java, volunteering, charity work, DofE and extensive trips and enrichment activities.
