Rugby has a long and proud tradition at King’s and is one of the major team sports for boys, with a full competitive programme in the Autumn and early part of the Spring terms. Girls also enjoy playing the sport on a more recreational basis.
There is always much to celebrate at King’s Rugby, regular County Championships, AJIS Championships, reaching the quarter final at the National Schools Cup (U18) or the large number of Cups, Shields or Plates that are collected each Sevens season. On an individual basis, for the last couple of seasons we have had players representing the North of England, Independent School Lambs, in addition to dozens of Sale Sharks DPP, Academy and Cheshire representatives.
The staff are incredibly passionate about the game but also the school. They have a wide ranging array of skills and experiences. Each student will benefit from several different committed professionals during their progress from school-boy rugby to beyond, perhaps becoming the next Steve Smith (England Captain and former pupil) or Tommy Taylor (England, Wasps and former pupil).
