King’s Location

One of the special things about King's is its semi-rural setting, which offers enormous advantages over city sites. As well as having our own wildlife sanctuary, stream, orchards and extensive outdoor facilities, the town of Macclesfield is a historic market town on the edge of the Peak District and fringed by hills, forests and canals.

The King's campus is on Alderley Road, Prestbury, SK10 4SP. It is less than 4 miles to Alderley Edge, 1.3 miles to Prestbury village, 2.3 miles to Macclesfield train station, 6 miles to Wilmslow town centre and 8 miles to Congleton town centre.

Bus Services

The school has a number of bus routes which cover a range of geographical areas. Details of routes and contact information for the bus companies is below:

Our Transport Coordinator in the Finance Department will be pleased to explain booking arrangements. Please call 01625 260010.

Public Transport

The school is also served by the local bus services and by the railway. Both railway and the main bus station are served by a minibus service to the school site. Train journey times are quick and convenient e.g. Prestbury 4 minutes, Congleton 9 minutes, Poynton 10 minutes, Bramhall 13 minutes, Cheadle Hulme 16 minutes, Stockport and Stoke 20 minutes, Manchester Piccadilly 28 minutes.

The Traveline journey planner gives public routes and connections to King's from across the area. Please visit their website for bus and train details:
