King’s Macclesfield students have returned from the National Schools Trampoline Finals in Derby, with no less than three National Champion titles, and an impressive haul of medals.
Held at Derby Arena, the prestigious competition brought together the best young trampolinists from across the country. Qualifying for the national finals places gymnasts among the top performers in Britain, and King’s athletes rose to the occasion with exceptional skill, determination and team spirit.
The school’s standout successes included two individual National Champions — Year 4 pupils, Trixie Russell and Albie Kenny — as well as the Elite Year 10–13 Girls’ Team, made up of Connie O’Doherty, Sophia Kong, Mimi Ross and Charlotte Grant, who secured the team National Champion title.
There was further podium success for Mason Byrom, who delivered an outstanding routine to finish second nationally in the Year 10–14 novice boys’ category.
Rachel Burrows, Head Coach Trampolining at King’s, congratulated the squad. She said:
“Just reaching the finals is an incredible accomplishment. Every gymnast representing us at Derby demonstrated dedication, courage and real heart. We couldn’t be prouder! Whether the results went their way or not, the experience, dedication, and courage shown by every competitor was truly outstanding. Huge Congratulations to you all!”
