The young princes and princesses in the King's School Infant and Junior Division had spent the week not only learning about the monarchy's history and ever changing function but enjoying fun, games and competitions. There was a cookery competition, a best crown design award and an art prize, as the young ones revelled in national pride.

A special assembly saw a cinematic slide show and film reel of the previous coronation with traditional music including Zadoc the Priest heralding the great event ahead. There was also a Coronation high tea with every child given a special coronation cake to take home.

Principal of King's Infant and Junior Division Rachel Cookson said: "The children loved the Queen and we can see the same passion and enthusiasm for the new King. We also explained what a difficult challenge it would be for anyone, but that the new King had received the very best lessons from his mum."
