Head of German at King’s, Mrs Slack, congratulated the students and spoke about languages at the school. She said: “We are so proud of Will and Kieran, they have shown passion and resilience and excellence throughout their studies, they are wholly deserving of their Oxbridge offers.
“King’s has an impressive track record for language students gaining Oxbridge university offers, with places achieved consistently for the last five years. Modern languages are popular subjects with our students, who recognise the longer-term benefits of studying individual languages or combined at degree level. We are proud of the wider opportunities given to our GCSE and A-Level students, with extra-curricular activities, exchanges, and student-led learning to provide the depth of skill that sets them up for the future.”
Will and Kieran spoke about their offers. Will said: “I am thrilled to have received my offer, and to have the opportunity to further my studies at such a distinguished university. It’s been a long-held ambition of mine to study at Oxford, so to receive an offer is the best feeling.”
Kieran concluded: “The Oxbridge application process has been worth the hard work. I’m delighted at the prospect of studying modern languages at Cambridge and being inspired further.”
