Call-ups for Representative Netball

With sport now firmly back on the agenda, pupils are clocking up multiple sporting successes and accolades. There has been incredible success this term with pupils being selected to play representative netball.

Lydia Hine in Year 11 has been selected by England Netball Roses Academy U17, the training ground for the national squad. Lydia was also Captain of the Manchester Thunder team that won the National Netball Championship title in September. Also selected for representative netball is Year 11 Madi Baxter who has been selected for U17 Loughborough Lightning, and both Minty Kight and Aimee Venables have been selected as Cheshire County players. This makes King's U16 squad (pictured) a formidable unit and they are unsurprisingly the current Cheshire Cup winners. However, as their Netball Coach Phil Owen emphasised: "What makes this team really special is the quality in all departments with Gabby McIntyre, Georgie Sanders, Leah Shadwell and Penny Tomlinson all playing huge roles in their success."

In other age groups, Daisy Sutton from Year 10 has gained selection for Leeds Rhinos U15 and Cheshire County. Bea Worlock from Year 9 has also made the cut for the Cheshire County U14 Academy.

Esme Sutton from Year 8 has been selected for the Cheshire County U13 Academy; and Lalli Brown has been selected for the U13 Manchester Thunder squad.

Charlotte Baxter from Year 7 has been selected for both Manchester Thunder U12 squad and Cheshire County U12 Academy. Hattie Usher and Minnie Farooq in Year 7 have been selected for Manchester Thunder Bees Pod and Cheshire County U12 Academy. Tilly Collins also in Year 7 has been selected for Manchester Thunder Bees Pod.
