
We are delighted to announce our 2026/27 School Captains, who were appointed this term by Mr Slack to represent our School from September.
Class of 2027 students, James Strong and Isla Windscheffel, have been selected as Captains to lead a team of Prefects and to take on significant student roles throughout the year, including representing the school at external events including the Merchant Taylors’ Doctors’ Dinner in London.
Joining the Captains are Josie Abernethy, Ava Bygrave, Talia Clark and Henry Gouge as Vice Captains.
Selected following a challenging process, involving submitting applications and an interview with the Head of Foundation, the team were praised for their commitment, ambition and outstanding character.

James, who joined King’s in Seniors, is studying Maths, Further Maths and Physics A-Levels. As well as playing rugby for the school, James is passionate about engaging the community spirit and being a role model to his younger peers.
Isla joined King’s for Sixth Form, and believes her ‘fresh’ thoughts and ideas can help make a positive impact on the student voice. Studying Biology, Chemistry and Geography A-levels, whilst enjoying playing club football, Isla intends to study Medicine at university.
The selected Vice Captains will play a hands-on supporting role, representing the school at external and internal functions. Talia, who studies Economics, Business and Art, is excited to embrace the opportunities her role will bring. Ava is studying English Literature, English Language and Business, and is also an accomplished singer, having achieved Grade 8. Aspiring engineer Josie is studying Physics, Chemistry and; she enjoys dance outside of school and has appreciated the warm welcome she received on joining King’s Sixth Form. Henry, who studies History, Government & Politics and Business, is a member of the Rugby team and is looking forward to representing the school in his new role.
Miss Jestin, Head of Sixth Form, is delighted to pass the school’s Captaincy on to the new student team. She said: “Huge congratulations to the Captains and Vice Captains for 2026/27. It’s always an exciting part of the school year announcing these prestigious roles. We had so many prospective candidates that showed real dedication to the school.”
